My “Woland and Their Hermes Bag” look for the first ever LGBTQ+ ball thrown in Turkey thanks to All About Kokoş.

I was so proud to be part of this iconic night, although there was no time or space for me to perform and talk about my look, I would like to talk about it here;

The character I performed is from a masterpiece book called “Master and Margarita” written discreetly during the Soviet Regime. My character Woland, is actually the devil who visits Moscow to throw a satirical illusion show to criticize the elite class. The part I have found especially resonating with me was when The Master (writer character/ actually Mikhail Bulgakov himself) after being rejected by publisher throws his book in fire and burns it. Woland comes in and hands back the rejuvenated book and says “Manuscripts don’t burn.”

You can oppress us, you can try to erase us from the TV, cinema and literature but we don’t burn :)
